Spiritual Thought of the Week

Spiritual Thought of the Week
St. John 20: 27-29 . . . reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. ("Doubting Thomas" by Carl Bloch 1834-1890)

Fish Tales

The way Gui sees things (from the bowl). Whats up with the Denver Nuggets' Carmelo Anthony? After a long night of drowning his sorrows at the local watering hole, "Melo" decides to drive home. While swerving in and out of lanes, and failing to dim his headlights (which one may argue, the headlights were already a little dim), Denver's finest pulled Melo over on suspicion of DUI. In response to the incident, Melo's attorney issued a statement apologizing on behalf of Melo for "distracting" his teammates, community, and fans. First of all, why can't Melo apologize himself? Empty apologies through a lawyer? (double negative / GET REAL!) Secondly, downplaying a life threatening situation as a distraction is in poor taste and disrespectful to anyone whose life has ever been affected by a drunk driver. Thirdly, (and I'm speculating here - as fish normally do...) why not hire a chauffeur? (I think he could probably afford one). I hereby offer my driving / babysitting services to Carmello Anthony, only after he slam dunks a REAL heartfelt apology. The only "distraction" here, is an over payed basketball player ducking behind a puppet lawyer throwing up a brick for an apology. If Mello used this kind of defense in Sundays game, they might have claimed a victory. Sorry for the rant....should I just Mello?
